Ian Scott (1945-2013) earned himself a reputation for creating modern art which applied an international vision to a local, New Zealand context. First exhibited in the 1970s, Scott’s lattices represent an engagement with the mid-20th century concepts of surface, medium and abstraction.

The studio is proud to be involved in the cleaning and repairs of works by New Zealand’s great 20th century painters; such as Ian Scott, Gordon Walters and Milan Mrkusich. The works of our modernists are distinctive for their bold use of light and colour – characteristics best represented when an artwork is in its best condition.
